The Twinbrook Woodworks Standard
What to Expect When You Order from Twinbrook Woodworks
Our Craftsmanship Promise
At Twinbrook Woodworks, we don’t just build furniture — we craft heirlooms. Every table is made by hand using solid hardwoods, durable joinery, and a finish designed to highlight the natural beauty of the wood. Our goal is to build something that becomes a fixture in your home — not for a few years, but for decades.
From the first conversation to final delivery, we believe in clear communication, honest craftsmanship, and timeless design. We build each piece like it’s going in our own home — because that’s the only way we’d want it done.
What Makes Our Tables Different
Our standard wood species is kiln-dried red oak — strong, beautiful, and dependable. Boards are joined lengthwise for clean, classic lines. You’ll never find MDF, veneers, or particle board in our work.
We use Rubio Monocoat, a plant-based, hardwax oil with excellent durability and a natural matte look. It’s our standard finish because it performs beautifully and avoids harmful VOCs. We also offer Clean Armor, a premium UV-cured finish, as an optional upgrade for clients who want added protection and sheen.
Everything we build is designed to last for generations. From tight glue joints to intentional proportions and durable finishing, our work is as sturdy as it is beautiful.
Appearance & Natural Variation
Each table we make is handcrafted from real hardwood — which means it’s full of character, uniqueness, and natural variation. The color and grain pattern of each board will differ slightly, and stain can take differently from piece to piece. That’s part of what makes your table truly one of a kind.
We do our best to match your requested finish as closely as possible, but exact stain matches from samples or photos can’t be guaranteed. Different sanding levels, wood grain, and light exposure all affect the final tone.
We also offer textured options like band-sawn or circle-sawn tops upon request. These introduce intentional saw marks and slight undulations in the surface for a more rustic look. If you’re after a perfectly smooth, flat tabletop, we recommend sticking with our standard smooth finish.
Knots and small voids are natural to hardwood lumber. If you prefer a cleaner appearance, we’re happy to fill these at your request — just note that this may come with an additional charge.
Sizing & Seasonal Movement
Your table will be built to the dimensions confirmed at the time of order, with a typical tolerance of up to 1" due to the nature of solid wood.
Wood is a living material — it expands and contracts with seasonal changes in humidity. Most of the time, this results in minor shifts (1/16" to 1/4") that are completely natural and expected. We design our tabletops to accommodate that movement so they remain structurally sound throughout the seasons.
Warranty & Our Promise
We believe in standing behind our work — and we do. Here's what we call our Craftsman’s Promise:
-
If your furniture arrives damaged, we’ll repair or replace it.
-
If your table isn’t built to the agreed-upon size, style, or color, we’ll make it right.
-
If your table ever develops a structural split, we’ll fix or replace it — for as long as you own it.
That said, real wood will show signs of life. Hairline cracks or surface shifts from humidity are normal and not considered defects.
We cannot guarantee that your furniture won’t scratch. It’s built to be used, and we hope you use it often — but:
-
For tables, we recommend using coasters, placemats, and trivets
-
For chairs, seat cushions can help prevent scratches from rivets or jeans
These simple habits will go a long way in preserving the finish for years to come.
We’re a small shop with big standards — so if anything feels off, you won’t be speaking to a call center. You’ll be talking to the people who actually built your furniture. And we’ll do everything we can to make it right.
Payment Terms
We require a 50% down payment to secure your order and begin production. The remaining balance is due at the time of delivery or pickup.
Lead Times
Our standard production timeline is approximately 6 weeks, but the exact lead time may vary depending on our current workload. We'll provide a more accurate timeframe before your order is finalized.
We do not currently offer rush orders — each piece receives the time and attention it deserves.
Cancellation & Design Changes
Because each project is custom-built, we follow a clear and firm cancellation policy:
-
Cancel within 48 hours of ordering: Full refund
-
Cancel between days 2–14: 50% refund of your deposit
-
Cancel after 14 days: Deposit is non-refundable
-
Major design changes made after production has started may require additional charges to cover materials and labor
One Last Thought
Handcrafted furniture isn’t for everyone — and that’s okay. It won’t be flawless, it won’t be machine-perfect, and it won’t always match a photo pixel-for-pixel. But if you're after a table with soul — one that’s built by hand, from solid wood, and designed to gather your family for years to come — we’d be honored to build it.
Mass-produced furniture might be faster and cheaper, but it won’t carry your story the way a handcrafted piece does. When you're ready for something better, we're here for you.
